Amaranda planned to live out her 27 years as an Apollite and not become Daimon, but she accidentally ingested Daimon blood. She then forced her Dark-Hunter husband Cael to drink it too because he was dying. Thorn took them under his wing and made them Hellchasers so they can hunt and kill Daimons, subsisting on the souls that have already been stolen and not be responsible for murdering innocents.

Ravyn, Susan, Otto, and Leo walk in on her in bed with Cael when they show up unexpectedly to check on his safety. Later she and Cael are attacked by Daimons, who mortally wound them. She ingests some Daimon blood while fighting one of them and realizes that it cured her, so she forces Cael to drink the blood too.

Amaranda and Cael have become Hellchasers, and they're hunting Lazaros. They save Samia from being kidnapped by him. Amaranda and Fang combine their powers to send Samia's spirit to help Dev find Hippolyte's Girdle.
